Abstract:
This dataset is a 50 foot digital elevation model (DEM) of Westchester County. The data represents an elevation surface of the County in a grid where each grid cell is 50 feet by 50 feet. This 50 foot grid was produced using 50 foot contours from the County's base mapping project in 2000 (1"=100' mapping scale). The DEM was created using ArcGIS 9, Spatial Analyst Extension.
Purpose:
The DEM map is a multi-colored County-wide relief map which shows elevations shaded at 50 foot contour intervals. It provides an instant visualization of the county's valley and ridge systems as well as high elevations areas. The coverage is intended for general planning purposes only, and may not be appropriate for site specific analysis.
